Do you know how many elephants can fit in this truck?

How many male African elephants do you think can fit into one of our Catepillar 793D haul trucks?

The haul truck can fit 35 African male elephants, or the equivalent of a 217 tonne load. Used as an icebreaker question to school children on tour of our Fort Knox mine, it is a good indicator of the size of the trucks we have on site.

The huge trucks are necessary for the scale of operations at our Alaskan site, where more than six million ounces of gold have been produced since 1996.
