Latest shipment of Project C.U.R.E. medical supplies delivered to Ghana

In May, about US$400,000 worth of critical medical supplies and equipment was delivered to Ghana, the latest delivery from our partnership with U.S.-based NGO Project C.U.R.E.

Three clinics in the communities around Chirano – Akoti-Etwebo, Paboase and Ahwiaa –  received the life-saving supplies. The delivery follows an earlier shipment valued at US$865,000 in August 2015

“Since 2012, our work with Project C.U.R.E. has seen seven local health facilities benefit. The health and well-being of the communities around Chirano is important to us and the supplies will ensure that people have access to the health care that they need,” said Ken Norris, General Manager and Vice-President, Chirano, at a community ceremony that marked the arrival of the equipment. “Six other health centres will receive additional supplies later this year.”

As part of the partnership with Project C.U.R.E., Kinross is expected to deliver another US$7 million worth of medical supplies to Mauritania and Ghana over the next two years. To date, more than US$2.5 million worth of medical supplies have been delivered to the two countries.
