National Book Day in Brazil: Stocking a Library for Children

On National Book Day (October 29th), Paracatu delivered more than 500 books – all donated by employees – to a local community association that helps in-need youth. Recently the site’s Integrar* program also helped create comic book libraries in Paracatu’s public schools through a donation of 4,000 comic books and furniture.

*Founded in 2011, Paracatu’s “Integrar” program promotes social investment across four key areas: education, culture, environment, and income/employment generation. In 2014, Integrar is expected to benefit more than 800 students and 23 local institutions.

Davi Caetano and Otávio Medeiros (Communication & Community Analysts, Paracatu) help children unpack boxes of books donated by employees.
