Resale reaps rewards

Employee: Anton Didenko (Freight Manager)

Problem: The shelf life of the potassium ethyl xanthate (chemical materials) on site had expired. The materials were inherited from the previous mine owners and a disposal agreement with a company in Vladivostok had already been planned. The cost of transporting and disposing of the materials was estimated at US $85,000.

Suggestion: Anton, who is based in the Magadan office, found a company interested in buying the entire volume of the chemical materials one week before the ship was set to sail for Vladivostok. The chemical materials sale saved an additional US $15,000.

Result: Anton’s efforts resulted in a total savings a US $100,000.
