Silver Winner: Oleg Tabert, Miner, Class 6, Dvoinoye

Silver Winner:
Oleg Tabert,
Miner, Class 6, Dvoinoye

Oleg began working at Kupol in 2008, and he has since established a reputation as a first-class miner. He then moved to Dvoinoye becoming one of the first employees on the ground when the mine began operation in 2013.

Over the last ten years at Kinross, Oleg has proven to be a qualified, dedicated and task-oriented employee. His colleagues reflect on his ability to take responsibility and work to resolve issues quickly and effectively with a focused approach.

A fast learner, Oleg quickly learned to operate different kinds of equipment and has trained numerous employees to use drill holes and re-bolt equipment effectively. Oleg has introduced several improvements to operations at Dvoinoye, including conducting raise blasting in one-step (as opposed to a step per level), cutting blasting time in half, and reducing costs by reusing materials such as bent bolts.

“Oleg is the kind of employee who leads a high performance culture. He is task-oriented, driven to accomplish successful outcomes and looks for new innovations for any assignment he is given,” said Evgeniy Kuznetsov, Mine Superintendent, Dvoinoye. “Above all, he is committed to a culture of safety; his mission is to have his team go home in the same condition as they came to work in.”

A mentor to his peers and dedicated to the Company as a whole, Oleg leads by example and exemplifies high performance culture.
