Tasiast reaches two safety milestones

On December 28th, 2017, the Tasiast exploration team, which includes Tasiast employees and contractors, reached 6 years without a Lost Time Injury (LTI).

The Tasiast optimization project team also celebrated an impressive milestone of 2.8 million man hours without an LTI in 2017.

“These milestones show Tasiast’s ability to successfully achieve our performance goals safely and efficiently,” said Daniel Marini, Vice-President and General Manager, Tasiast. “Throughout 2017, we have improved productivity while continuing to maintain high safety performance. I am proud of these accomplishments and thank Tasiast employees for their continued dedication and effort.”

These achievements demonstrate a commitment to Kinross’ core value Putting People First. The Tasiast teams exemplify dedication, professionalism and high standards, which drives workers and management to deliver high-quality performance while working in a safe environment.
