Watch how we surprise Paracatu employees in this video about hand safety

We asked Paracatu employees about the importance of working safely to protect their hands. After they responded, we surprised them with other opinions on why hand safety is important.

Click here to watch the video.

“Hand injuries account for about half of all injuries at Kinross. While some of these are minor cuts and bruises, serious hand injuries – partial or full amputation of one or more fingers– can have long-term impact on the quality of life, both at work and at home,” said Ed Opitz, Vice-President, Safety and Sustainability.

In 2015, we launched the ‘Our Hands Matter’ campaign, a program focusing on hand safety for all workers. This video is an extension of that campaign and shows that hand safety affects more than yourself, but your loved ones too.

“The goal of this campaign is to emphasize hand safety at all sites because putting people first is our top priority. At the end of the day, we want to make sure our people get home safe,” continued Ed.

Check out West Africa’s ‘Our Hands Matter’ photo contest to see other ways we are promoting hand safety across Kinross.
