In January 2020, Kinross completed its acquisition of ‘Chulbatkan’ – a high quality development project located in Russia’s Far East that sits approximately the same distance from Magadan as our Kupol and Dvoinoye operations.

Chulbatkan is a large, near-surface resource with the potential to support a low-cost, low-strip, high-grade, open-pit heap leach operation. To learn more about the acquisition, view the release here.
