Kinross Tasiast celebrates donation of 100 Pétanque courts to Chami community with inaugural GM’s tournament!

In July, Kinross Tasiast marked the grand opening of 100 newly-donated Pétanque courts to the Chami community by hosting its inaugural General Manager’s tournament! Pétanque, a form of lawn bowling originating in France, is a popular sport in the region.

The tournament was an opportunity to demonstrate our ongoing commitment to local communities through donation and creating opportunities to build relationships through friendly competition. This exciting event brought together over 270 teams made up of 600 participants who battled over three days for a chance to win one of several prizes that together totaled ~US$14,000. The prizes were presented by Tasiast leadership and Chami local authorities at the closing ceremony on the final day of the tournament.
