Last week, Kinross Gold welcomed nine students to our corporate headquarters in Toronto for the annual ‘Take Our Kids to Work Day!’.
Take Our Kids to Work Day is the most recognized career exploration event in Canada, welcoming thousands of grade nine students across the Country to join their parents, friends or relatives at work to get a firsthand look into a typical workday and to see what skills are important to utilize when pursuing various career paths.
Kinross hosted an interactive session in the first half of the day where students had the opportunity to learn more about Kinross and the career paths available in mining, and to hear from young professionals about their experience in post-secondary education, exploring the workforce and the transition from full-time student to full-time worker. The second portion of the day was spent job shadowing their host to see what a real ‘day-in-the-life’ in the workplace is like!
