Kinross Gold’s Board of Directors celebrate team milestones and collaboration during Tasiast site visit

April 16, 2026

On March 26th, Kinross Tasiast welcomed our Board of Directors to the site for an exciting day filled with events and activities to celebrate the milestones, collaborative efforts and teamwork of our Mauritanian workforce.

The day began with the grand opening ceremony of the site’s newest employee space, the ‘Tasiast Team Oasis,’ a green space dedicated to the building of connections, networking and relaxation during employees’ leisure time. The space reinforces our commitments to the environment, sustainability and responsible mining. During the ceremony, several department heads spoke to the delegation about day-to-day operations and the long-term vision for Tasiast, all of which focused on employee wellbeing, sustainability and the advancement of renewable energy initiatives.

The ceremony concluded with Kinross Gold’s Board of Directors participating in a tree planting activity to add their own personal touch to the new communal employee space. This was followed by the unveiling of a commemorative marker by Paul Rollinson, CEO, and Kelly Osborne, Independent Chair, celebrating Tasiast’s most recent milestone of reaching five million ounces of gold produced since the site began operations in 2010.

Following the ceremony, attendees participated in a site visit that began with our first priority – Health and Safety – through a safety briefing detailing various procedures and best practices on site. Attendees then visited the ‘green room’ and continued on to key operational areas including the CIL plant, Fennec, Operator Care Centre and MEM, where they were given a fulsome summary of the operation and saw firsthand how the site team demonstrates dedication and professionalism on the ground.

The day concluded with a special dinner that featured presentations from the women of Tasiast, who shared their experiences, perspectives and the importance of inclusion and diversity in strengthening the workforce. Following the dinner, Board members participated in an immersive experience of Mauritanian culture featuring traditional treats including tea and local cuisine, as well as henna artistry and handcrafted goods.

“It was a pleasure to welcome Kinross Gold’s Board of Directors back to our Tasiast site to showcase the exciting new developments, milestones and advancements we are making at our operation,” said Jaylem Manhas, Vice-President and General Manager, Tasiast. “Each visit is an opportunity to connect and build relationships with our leadership, and to showcase the commitment and dedication of the team, and the exciting future ahead at Tasiast.”
