In March, members of Kinross’ corporate office in Toronto, Canada, laced up their skates to face off against opponents across a variety of industries for the inaugural Sunnybrook Hospital Hockey Tournament in support of the Tory Trauma Centre at Sunnybrook.

The team raised approximately $10,000 towards the initiative, with Kinross Gold matching the donation, bringing the grand total raised to just under $20,000.

The Tory Trauma Centre is Canada’s first and largest facility dedicated to the treatment of trauma and burns, and the provision of critical care. The facility serves the greatest number of critically ill and injured patients in the country, with approximately one third of trauma patients in Ontario being treated at Sunnybrook. This includes patients airlifted from Northern and remote communities in Ontario through a donor-funded rooftop helipad.
