Building a Continuous Improvement Culture

Our Continuous Improvement (CI) program provides the structure and the tools to help us achieve the greatest possible cost savings and operational improvements. In 2013, the program achieved its best year to date in overall performance, with CI teams established at every site. Our sites delivered over US$388 million in cash flow gains from CI projects – more than doubling last year’s total – and are on track to surpass US$1 billion in cumulative cash flow in 2014.

“Thanks to the collective efforts of our global CI teams, we achieved a number of record milestones. With CI programs now at every site, the teams are building upon last year’s momentum by increasing focus on employee engagement,” says David Clark (Manager, Global Continuous Improvement Programs).

Our CI teams play a critical role in facilitating and leading projects to help reduce and/or avoid costs, increase cash flow, and driving engagement at the site level. In the following articles, we highlight sites that are building a CI culture across the entire workforce.
