In December, Kinross Tasiast sponsored the tenth annual Nouadhibou International Marathon! The marathon was launched in 2010 and was cancelled in 2020 due to the pandemic.
This year, almost 3,500 community members came together to compete in either a 5km, 10km or 20km race through the region. The Kinross health and safety team was there to supply water bottles to participants and provided an emergency services ambulance to tend to any participates in need.
