The “Laguna del Negro Francisco” (lagoon) shown above, is located in the “Salar de Maricunga” area in Chile, near our Maricunga operation. The lagoon is part of an expansive, nationally-protected ecological zone, including a wildlife refuge and national park. The “Salar de Maricunga” is a salt flat that spans 8,300 hectares at an altitude of 3,700 metres, or more than 12,000 feet. As a nationally protected area, there is an abundance of fauna, such as the flamingoes shown in this image.
