Kinross commits US$2 million to support Mauritanian Government’s efforts against COVID-19

Kinross Tasiast recently announced a commitment of $2 million to support the Government of Mauritania’s response plan against COVID-19. The commitment follows our initial donation of urgent medical supplies and equipment to Mauritania in March 2020.

Our team will be working closely with the Government of Mauritania to understand the needs and priorities and ensure a timely implementation of the donation to help mitigate the impact of COVID-19 in the country.

“Kinross will continue to support Mauritania in its response to this global pandemic,” said J. Paul Rollinson, President and CEO. “We are a committed partner in the country and prioritize the health and well-being of our employees, their families and our host communities.”

Kinross continues to implement comprehensive local response plans and apply rigorous measures at the Tasiast site and Nouakchott office to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 and keep employees, their families and host communities safe.
