Kinross’ Russia and West Africa operations host ‘Pink Day’ to raise awareness for breast cancer

In October, we marked Breast Cancer Awareness Month – an international campaign to raise awareness about the impact of breast cancer and to raise funds to support breast health education, early detection services and assist women facing breast cancer.

During the month, our Russia and West Africa operations hosted ‘Pink Day’, an event which gave employees the opportunity to attend educational seminars, participate in arts and crafts activities, and enjoy a luncheon to promote awareness for the cause.

“Pink Day is an excellent opportunity to come together and focus our attention on this important matter. We believe that by raising awareness for this cause, we can contribute to early detection which can help reduce long-term impacts of this illness,” said Claude Schimper, Executive Vice-President, Russia and West Africa Operations. “We had an excellent turnout and response to this year’s celebrations and were glad to share these experiences across our Russia and West Africa regions.”
