Kinross Russia Hosts Children’s Drawing Contest

Our Kinross Magadan office recently hosted its second annual drawing contest for the children of its employees. Thirty-eight drawings were submitted to “My mom/dad works for Kinross” contest from children ranging from ages five and 13. Representation included submissions from Magadan, Ilirney and Bilibino, as well as Krasnoyarsk, Vladivostok and Moscow. 

The winners were:

  • 1st place: Andrey Yakovenko, eight-year old son of Mikhail Yakovenko (Senior Geologist, Dvoiynoye
  • 2nd place: Katya Popova, eight-year old daughter of Evgeniya Popov (Chief Accountant, LLC Northern Gold, Magadan)
  • 3rd place: Alexander Berezhnov, ten-year old son of Vasiliy Vilkeyvim (Carpenter, Kupol)

They were awarded an e-book, iPad mini and iPad, but all participants were recognized and rewarded for their efforts. The Magadan office hopes to continue this tradition each year, and to increase participation.
