Las Palmas launches ‘Health and Safety Committee’

The Las Palmas office recently established a Health and Safety Committee to provide education and training to employees on best practices to maintain a safe workplace.

The Committee will find opportunities to further enhance health and safety procedures in the workplace, including an emergency evacuation and fire marshal plan, and providing ergonomic assessments for all employees.

Employees also had the opportunity to participate in four training sessions for resuscitation certification in CPR and AED. Over half of the employees in Las Palmas learned the life-saving techniques in the event of an emergency.

“Health and safety has always been our top priority at Kinross and the best way to ensure we all get home safely is by training our people with the necessary skills to mitigate risks in any situation. The Committee has a lot of amazing ideas we are excited to put into action,” – Las Palmas Health and Safety Committee.
