See how Kinross celebrated International Women’s Day!

March 8th marked International Women’s Day (IWD)! This year, we celebrated the achievements of women across the world with the theme #BalanceforBetter.

“At Kinross, one of our People Commitments is Champion Diversity, encouraging our employees to celebrate the achievements of one another and to promote different backgrounds in the mining industry,” said Gina Jardine, Senior Vice-President, Human Resources. “The theme #BalanceforBetter motivates our workforce to promote equality and work together to achieve better results across our operations.”

Below, see how the women across Kinross celebrated the special day!

The Toronto office kicked off IWD with a small celebration for all employees in the staff lounge.

Round Mountain partnered with ‘No to Abuse’, a non-profit organization that supports women facing domestic violence, to organize ‘moving out’ and ‘new mother’ baskets in support of people extricating themselves from abusive relationships.

International Women’s Day brings people together to celebrate the achievements of women all over the world. It also encourages conversation and reflection on what still needs to be accomplished to achieve gender parity.
