Silver Winner: Brandol Holmgren, Technical Senior, Supply Chain, Fort Knox

Silver Winner:
Brandol Holmgren,
Technical Senior, Supply Chain, Fort Knox

Brandol is known for his attention to detail and his razor-sharp memory that makes for quick and efficient customer service at the Fort Knox warehouse.

Brandol joined Fort Knox in 2013 as a warehouse technician and immediately became a vital member of the site team. When a customer calls for a part, all they need to do is provide a brief description of the item they need and he is able to locate it by the time they walk to the shop. Time is savings and Brandol helps to make sure that machinery does not stand idle for long.

“When faced with a high pressure situation, Brandol is the go-to guy at Fort Knox. Time and time again his attention to detail and memory have served us well. His mind is like a steel trap and he gets the job done fast,” said one of Brandol’s nominators.

One of his greatest achievements came when a 4160 breaker volt broke. The part would have taken 48 hours to be flown to the site, costing Kinross approximately $1.7 million in lost time. Brandol remembered that there was a similar part in the warehouse listed as a ‘spare’; however, he knew that it could do the job. He promptly replaced the volt and minimal time was lost.

Brandol’s hard work and commitment to continuous improvement make him an essential part of the Fort Knox team.
