Having worked at both of our operating mines in South America how was your experience different?
I just completed my second year of the program, and each assignment has been a different challenge.
Although I have similar tasks as my previous assignment at Paracatu, working at Maricunga was a completely different experience. Maricunga has different equipment and procedures, so I’m learning new processes that are unique to the work environment. My colleagues also have different experiences, so I’m learning a lot from them as well.
Maricunga has some unique characteristics, most notably its high altitude of 4700 m and extremely low temperatures. We always have to be prepared for unexpected environment-related issues.
