In March, the Kupol Foundation provided support to a healthcare campaign for the Chukotka community.
The campaign sent 14 medical professionals from Moscow’s N.N. Blokhin National Oncology Centre to the region to hold medical consultations including ultrasounds, endoscopies and x-rays, and provided information sessions to educate the community on cancer prevention and identifying potential risk factors.
After four days of consultations, the medical team headed back to Moscow where they will continue providing virtual consultations to community members and supporting local physicians.
The Kupol Foundation was established in 2009 by Chukotka Mining and Geological company (part of Kinross Russia) and supports four areas of social importance, one being healthcare. Since 2009, the Foundation has provided financing for 190 projects, including 17 healthcare projects in the Chukotka region that have made a significant impact on the well-being of community members in the region.
