Felipe joined Kinross in 2018 and has since become a valuable member of the Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) Committee at Kinross Brazil, with his many contributions and innovations that make the workplace more accessible and inclusive for employees with disabilities.
The DEI Committee is made up of volunteer employees who are passionate about spreading awareness and making a difference in the workplace for employees who identify as being diverse or disabled. Felipe has been a main contributor through over 100 innovations such as exclusive parking, elevated crossing and even creating awareness workshops to educate his peers.
In 2023, Felipe led a campaign to share testimonials from employees with disabilities to highlight their successes, and to reinforce a culture of inclusivity during International Day of Persons with Disabilities. This campaign was an opportunity to showcase disabilities that may not always be easily recognized, and to demonstrate how they can be supported to make work environments easier, and more inclusive for all employees.
Felipe’s passion for DEI stems from his personal experience having a child with a disability. He believes that by working together and spreading awareness the workplace can become more accessible and inclusive, and all employees can have an equal opportunity to succeed and support each other.
