Kinross La Coipa marked a significant milestone at the start of the year by receiving the Caterpillar three-star certification for its Mobile Equipment Workshop. This is the first Kinross operation to achieve the distinction, which follows the team's first Caterpillar star certification that was received in 2025.
The certification was awarded to the team based on their high standards related to pollutant controls, fluid management, equipment reliability, operational practices, training and development and a culture rooted in continuous improvement, safety and technical excellence.
“This recognition of our maintenance processes is not circumstantial or the result of an isolated effort, but rather the outcome of systemic, disciplined management aligned with world-class standards in mining,” said Roberto Pino Gómez, Mine Maintenance Manager, La Coipa. “I would like to express my sincere gratitude to the entire team for this extraordinary achievement and their discipline and clarity in pursuing their goals that made this achievement possible.
