As part of its contribution to the development of the city, Kinross Paracatu funded the design and construction of a new pedestrian crosswalk over highway BR-040 in late November. The walkway now connects five neighbourhoods in the region. “The community has long needed this crosswalk,” says Gilberto Carlos Azevedo (General Manager, Paracatu). “As part of Kinross’ commitment to improving the safety of the local population, in particular for its children and adolescents, we recognized this investment would create direct benefits for the region.” The design and construction of the new crosswalk was over $2 million.
