Around the World

What mine sites have you worked at Kinross?

I spent my first rotation at Kettle River-Buckhorn, working as an underground geologist mapping and sampling active mining fronts at the Buckhorn mine site, and interacting with planning engineers and operations to provide daily ore control decisions.

At Tasiast, I worked closely with an amazing group of geologists, logging and defining the West Branch expansion after Kinross acquired the mine site. I also worked on regional mapping and defining district exploration targets outside of the mine.

While at Reno, I shifted gears to work on deposit research projects and provided geologic support for regional exploration programs. I had the chance to work with a broader corporate focus, and was fortunate to visit the Kupol site and work on a greenfields exploration project in southern Minas Gerais in Brazil.

I’m now in my final rotation at Paracatu. I’m gaining much needed experience in a large open-pit environment, helping develop the grade control program and advancing mid to long-range growth and development projects.
