Faces of Tasiast: Meet Karim Diabira

Meet Karim Diabira (Deputy Superintendent, Metallurgy) at Tasiast.

Karim’s story is airing now on our Tasiast Facebook page and the Tasiast YouTube Channel, as part of the Faces of Tasiast campaign, an initiative launched in October to promote Kinross in Mauritania.

Karim’s two minute video is the second instalment in the Faces of Tasiast campaign, which documents how Tasiast is changing the lives of four Mauritanians who work at the mine

“I joined Kinross Tasiast in 2010, and have acquired new management skills that have allowed me to quickly climb the ladder,” says Karim. “Today I am responsible for a team of six engineers.”

The campaign highlights the benefits Tasiast brings to Mauritania as Kinross looks to make a decision on expanding the mine in 2015.
