Last week, we announced agreements
to acquire 70% of the Peak Gold project in Alaska from Royal Gold and Contango ORE. The agreement is expected to benefit
local communities, in particular the Upper Tanana Athabascan Village of Tetlin.
Over the course of several months, Kinross held productive meetings with leaders of the Village of Tetlin, who indicated their support of the project development plan, and working towards a mutually beneficial partnership with the Company. Kinross plans to rename the project in consultation with the Village.
