Yuliya joined Kinross in 2004 as a junior accountant and became a Chief Accountant in 2015. Since joining Kinross, Yuliya has established herself as a steward of the Company’s best interests and acts as a main point of contact for all matters pertaining to finances, and the Company’s policies, rules and regulations.
Yuliya’s was one of the champions who organized an electronic workflow system in the finance department that ensured the timely and smooth processing of payment requisitions, expense reports and various other documents for all employees, suppliers and stakeholders.
When the pandemic began, this solution allowed employees to access the workflow program remotely and to work from home while still maintaining uninterrupted accounting transactions. As a result, our operations were able to sustain operating processes by maintaining logistics such as the processing of purchase orders, sourcing procurement, and transporting and delivering supplies to our mine sites.
Another achievement Yuliya managed over the pandemic was the integration of the Udinsk project to our corporate finance standards. Despite challenges of working remotely, Yuliya was able to align her team and successfully integrate the new project into Kinross standards quickly and efficiently.
“Yuliya exemplifies high competence and professional mastery that is both recognized and appreciated by her colleagues. She is the person you can always go to for answers and you will receive a clear, expert opinion,” said Andrey Gurin, Finance Director. “While the work of an accountant is not always in the public eye, the work Yuliya does and the positive impact she makes on Kinross Russia is irreplaceable and supports a more productive workforce.”
