On April 7th, a delegation of Kinross representatives met with Chile’s new Minister of Mines, Marcela Hernando, in Santiago, Chile to formally introduce the Minister to Kinross Chile.
The delegation provided an overview of Kinross’ Chilean operations and shared goals for future investment in the country. The group then shared Kinross’ ESG strategy and our commitment to mining responsibly and maintaining strong stakeholder relations in Chile. Upon completion of the meeting, they presented the Minister with Kinross’ Sustainability Report as a representation of our commitment to responsible mining both at work and in the community.

The Kinross delegation was composed of Mike Sylvestre, Senior Vice-President, Americas Operations, Mike Van Akkooi, Senior Vice-President, Government Relations, Rolando Cubillos, Vice-President and General Manager of Operations, Chile and Ximena Matas, Government Affairs and Legal Director, Chile.
