Kinross Bald Mountain receives 2023 Sentinels of Safety Award!

Congratulations Kinross Bald Mountain who recently received the 2023 Sentinels of Safety Award from the Nevada Mining Association (NMA) for outstanding safety performance in the open pit group category!

“I am so proud of our Kinross Nevada family for receiving this recognition at a national level. It represents all of the hard work, dedication and creativity that is exhibited by our leaders and miners at the face each and every day,” said Joseph Kemp, Vice-President and General Manager, Kinross Nevada. “We recognize that Safety is a journey that starts over each and every day. Staying steadfast in our commitment to operating in line with our core values is essential in generating a positive and productive mining environment where we can continue to look out for each other. Through the implementation of top tier engaging cultural programs like Safety Excellence and Operational Learning Teams demonstrates that by focusing on and understanding the “inputs” will generate positive results.

The Sentinels of Safety are an annual award presented to the nation’s safest mines who have reported a minimum of 4,000 injury-free hours. Members of the Bald Mountain team traveled to Las Vegas, Nevada, to accept their award at the 2024 MINExpo International Awards Ceremony.
