Kinross hosts 2024 Spring Festival in the Atacama for the 12th year!

This October, Kinross Chile was excited to host the 2024 Atacama Spring Festival. The Festival showcases the culture of the Atacama region by highlighting local artists and entrepreneurs in an effort to integrate traditional arts and culture into the social activities of the region.

Over 9,000 participants attended the Festival which featured a diverse lineup of national and regional artists, a marketplace for entrepreneurs, crafts, visual arts and activities for children. Attendees could catch performances by 11 musicians and bands , with headline performance by ‘Movimiento Original’ – a Chilean hip-hop and reggae band popular amongst young audiences and aspiring musicians.

This was Kinross’ 12th year hosting the Spring Festival which aims to strengthen our relationship with the community by creating a mutual space for connection and collaboration, fostering local identity and promoting cultural development between the Company and the members of the Atacama community.

“The Spring Festival is a celebration that reflects the spirit of the region and showcases our ongoing commitment to promoting culture in the Atacama,” said Patricio Pinto, Director of External Relations, Kinross Chile. “Over the year, we have supported a wide range of cultural events that honour our traditions and enhance local artistic development. This event is an example of how public-private partnerships are essential for strengthening the culture of Copiapó and surrounding areas.”
