See how our LOVA winners spent their time in Toronto

This month, our 2018 Living Our Values Awards (LOVA) winners visited Toronto to celebrate their awards and accomplishments.

Winners and their guests visited attractions such as Niagara Falls, the Butterfly Conservatory, the CN Tower, the Royal Ontario Museum, and participated in fun events including bowling and a cooking class.

The week concluded with the 10th annual awards gala where our team celebrated the milestone by highlighting each region with a traditional item:

  • Our cocktail hour was inspired by the United States, with appetizers such as Alaskan salmon and American elk.
  • Reusable bags developed by our Outstanding Corporate Citizenship gold award winner Daniela Vazquez Alvarez, Chemical Analyst, Maricunga, represented Chile.
  • Traditional biscuits from the São Domingos biscuit factory, a community partner located beside the mine, represented Paracatu.
  • One of our 2017 Corporate Responsibility Case Studies, entitled Improving the Lives of Women and Children in West Africa, was played at the gala to represent Tasiast and Chirano.
  • Russian dancers also performed a traditional Kalinka dance to represent our Dvoinoye and Kupol mines.

The week was a tremendous success, bringing together our 12 winners who represent our four core values each day.
