Bald Mountain recently donated $10,000 to Friends in Service Helping (F.I.S.H.) to support the local community around the mine during the holiday season.
In addition to purchasing food, the donation will assist with the purchase of a large refrigerator and freezer for the food bank.
“As a Company we recognize the impact F.I.S.H. has on the Elko community. We want to ensure we help them accomplish their mission of providing a warm meal and a place to sleep for those in need,” said Alissa Wood, Corporate Social Responsibility Specialist, Bald Mountain.
All donations made to F.I.S.H. help support and serve their local programs to aid families in crisis.
“We are lucky to have a neighbour like Kinross that cares about the community and helps support us in improving the quality of life for community members,” said Sherry Smith, Executive Director of F.I.S.H. “Due to Kinross’ generous donation, we will be able to store more food products and provide efficient service to families especially during the busy holiday season.”
F.I.S.H. is a local, non-profit organization that provides urgent or supplemental assistance to members of the Elko community. F.I.S.H. provides the less fortunate with a variety of services including food banks, thrift shops and shelters.
