Building a bridge to efficiency and savings

Employee: Vasiliy Kopylov (Explosive Magazine Manager)
Problem: At Dvoinoye, a forklift was needed to unload ammonium nitrate into the igdanite container. However, the forklift is a high demand piece of equipment and its availability was a constant issue.
Suggestion: Vasiliy proposed installing a 20 ft. container specifically for the ammonium nitrate opposite the igdanite production point, connecting the two facilities with a bridge. The ammonium nitrate is carried directly into the igdanite production point and loaded into the mixer. The ammonium nitrate container has a storage capacity of 21 tonnes, which lasts for approximately two weeks of operations.
Result: The igdanite mixing process no longer requires the use of a forklift, resulting in US$3,000 of associated costs.
