Kinross acquired the Great Bear project in February 2022, and announced an initial mineral resource estimate for the project in February 2023 that consisted of 2.7 Moz. of indicated resources and 2.29 Moz. of inferred resources.

In 2022, the Company was focused on drilling the first ~500 metres at the LP Fault zone and successfully drilled over 250 kilometres, including 225 kilometres of diamond exploration drilling. Combined with drilling completed by Great Bear since 2018, a total of over 550 kilometres of drilling has now been completed on the project, and continues to support Kinross’ view that the LP Fault zone is expected to host a long-life, high-grade, open-pit and underground mine.

For more information on the project, visit our Great Bear page here.
