Chirano brings clean water to local community

Chirano, in partnership with Vivo Energy Ghana, has helped to deliver a constant clean water supply to the Sefwi Ntrentrenso community near the mine.

By constructing a well, clean water for drinking, cooking, and other day-to-day activities will now be readily available to community members.

To celebrate, Ken Norris, Vice-President and General Manager, Chirano, and Ebenezer Faulkner, Managing Director of Vivo Energy Ghana, were honoured with a community event attended by government officials.

The Chief of Sefwi Ntrentrenso, Nana Agyei Duku Ababio II, thanked Chirano and said, “Thank you for bringing safe and clean water to our community. It will benefit and improve our lives and we promise to take good care of the well to make sure it will benefit generations to come. We are grateful and optimistic about our future.”

“It’s important that all members of the community have access to clean water. We are happy to have a positive impact in the region. We have a long-standing relationship here, including distributing solar lamps and energy efficient cooking stoves to families in the area,” said Ken.
