Ruggedly beautiful and remote, Chile’s Atacama Desert is one of the highest and driest places on earth, and home to our sites at Maricunga and La Coipa. Earlier this year, Brian McAlpine (Manager, Global Security), strapped a GoPro camera to the hood of his pick-up truck to capture the stunning Andean Mountain landscapes as he climbed to 4,500 metres above sea level.
The climb from the northern Chilean town of Copiapó to Maricunga or La Coipa takes several hours on the twisting mountain roads, but we’ve condensed Brian’s footage into a two-minute video set to music.
