CEO joins long-time Kinross Chile employee’s retirement celebration

Paul Rollinson, CEO, visited Chile this month where he met with Alberto Opazo, General Manager, Operations, Chile, to wish him well on his retirement that will commence at the end of March.

Alberto had a long, successful career at Kinross, beginning at Lobo-Marte in 2011 as Operations Manager. Alberto later joined the Maricunga team and held several key roles including as Site Manager in 2017 where he was instrumental in supporting his team to overcome operational challenges. Alberto’s leadership was recognized and led him to becoming the General Manager of Operations at Kinross Chile due to his extensive experience and successful track record as a veteran of the mining industry. Alberto’s significant contributions will be missed, and we wish him well in his retirement!

“I am very grateful to have been part of this world-class organization and its success, specifically in Chile,” said Alberto. “My goal at Kinross has always been to leave a lasting impact through education and sustainable development and I believe the Company is in a great position to generate long-term value. I am thankful for my teammates and superiors and will miss our collaboration, hard work and the excitement of achieving milestones with them. I am excited to see what Kinross, and Kinross Chile, will achieve in the future!”
