Kinross Brazil welcomes 25 new volunteer environmental monitors!

In November, Kinross Brazil trained 25 community members to become volunteer environmental monitors in communities surrounding the mine.

The purpose of the training was to build on our relationship with the community by providing the opportunity to understand our environmental management tools and to monitor for any discrepancies. The volunteers received theory and practical training to develop the skills needed to perform noise, dust, soil, vibration and dam monitoring in an effort to assess any issues that may occur during mining operations.

Captured above, the new environmental monitors during their trip to the mine.
