Kinross Great Bear attends 150 year celebration of the signing of Treaty #3

In September, members of Kinross Great Bear attended the 150th anniversary celebration to honour the signing of Treaty #3. During the event, attendees had the opportunity to view the sacred document, and gain insight into the history of the Treaty, Anishinaabe Heritage, and traditional practices such as story telling, sharing circles, art vendors and even purchase 150th anniversary merchandise.

The event was attended by government officials including Mayor of Red Lake Fred Mota, Mayor of Kenora Andrew Poirier, and Lieutenant Governor Elizabeth Dowdeswell, who each spoke on the significance of the day.
