Kinross Tasiast provides exciting start to the school year in communities surrounding the mine

This fall, Kinross Tasiast provided an exciting start to the school year for students and faculty in the Nouadhibou and Inchiri communities with a large supply of back-to-school supplies as the students kicked off the school year.

The donation included 3,600 new uniforms for students, 2,500 ‘back-to-school’ kits that included notebooks, pens, pencils, water bottles and other essentials supplies. In addition to the donation for students, the schools also received 250 desks to increase classroom capacity and improve student comfort.

Captured above, a student receives their new supplies at a donation ceremony held this fall in attendance by Kinross representatives and government officials. Kinross remains committed to supporting local communities surrounding Tasiast to provide younger generations with the resources they need to build a promising future.
