As part of Kinross’ ongoing effort to support our communities and bring benefits to the people who live in them, Fort Knox is helping to build a new local park in the suburb of Fox – a historic mining area approximately 10 miles north of our Fort Knox mine. Fox is a small community and has no schools, parks or playgrounds, and was desperately in need of a safe place for children to play.
The mine’s first donation totaled $25,000 and will be used to build the park’s pavilion – a sheltered area that will host official ceremonies, fundraisers, children’s festivities and other town events.
Fort Knox plans to contribute a similar amount over the next two years. Upon completion, the park will include meeting and recreational spaces, safe play areas, and sporting event venues.
Members of the community get set to break ground at the site of the new Fox park.
