By the end of 2013, our Chirano mine reduced the malaria incidence rate by 91% among our workforce in Ghana, and by 45% in local communities around the mine. By implementing strategies to keep areas mosquito free, improving health care and education, and undertaking scientific and social research, Chirano’s Malaria Control Program benefited both employees and the local community.
