Kinross Africa earlier this month announced it is donating $50,000 to the United Nations Foundation (UNF) Ebola Response Fund, the first-ever UN emergency health mission, established to tackle the largest outbreak to date of the deadly virus.
UN Mission for Ebola Emergency Response (UNMEER) is playing a significant role in helping Ebola-affected countries in Western Africa respond to the outbreak by providing technical assistance, funding, supplies, personnel, and by mobilizing the global community. UNMEER will work in close partnership with the World Health Organization (WHO), as well as various government bodies in the affected countries. The Ebola Response Fund provides a channel for individuals, corporations, foundations and organizations to directly support the UN’s response.
