Kinross Bald Mountain was excited to partner once again with the Elko Area Chamber to identify four Northern Nevada nonprofit organizations to be supported through the Kinross Cares Chamber Checks Donation.
This year, the Committee Against Domestic Violence, Family Respite Care of Nevada, Great Basin Children’s Advocacy Center and the Northern Nevada Moses Project received US$10,000 in Chamber Checks from the Kinross Cares program, allowing them to further their missions while keeping funds circulating within the local economy with over 200 local Elko businesses accepting Chamber Checks this year.
Chamber Checks allow local businesses to maintain their daily operations while supporting community members benefitting from nonprofits by providing outreach efforts, travel and food expenses, activities and supplies for children, or clothing and hygiene items.
“Kinross was thrilled to once again partner with our community to provide meaningful contributions to benefit not only our nonprofits, but to support local businesses through the Elko Area Chamber’s ‘Chamber Checks’,” said Fallon Dalling, External Affairs Specialist, Bald Mountain. “Having strong community partners like these help Kinross to make those positive investments in the communities where we work and live to continue improving local communities and leaving a lasting impact.”
The Chamber Checks program has proven to be beneficial to the community and encourages shopping locally within the Elko region. Since the program’s inception,~US$14 million in Chamber Checks have been purchased allowing those funds to circulate within the community and support local businesses.
