At the end of February, the Kinross Great Bear team hosted two open houses in the Red Lake and Ear Falls communities located near the project site.
The purpose of the open houses were to update the communities on the ongoing progress being made at Great Bear, in particular with the announcement of the robust initial resource statement that was announced on February 13th. The open house also provided an opportunity for community members to get to know more about Kinross and its team, and to have open, transparent conversations.
During the open houses, attendees listened to presentations by Ian Russell, Site Manager, Great Bear, Rick Greenwood, Exploration Manager, and Luke Jalsevac, Vice-President and Project Director, Great Bear.
Ian kicked off the day by welcoming everyone and introducing the team in attendance, followed by providing an overview of Kinross, its commitments and values, and success working in several global mining jurisdictions. Rick then provided a property overview and shared the activities and milestones that took place during 2022. Luke shared an overview of the initial resource statement and discussed the target paths taking place during exploration.
The presentation concluded with Ian discussing the Company’s work plan and goals for 2023, followed by a Q&A session with attendees. Attendees also visited display tables hosted by our geology, human resources and environmental teams to ask any further questions and learn more about the project.
“The open houses in Red Lake and Ear Falls were a great success and excellent opportunity for us to interact with our stakeholders to share more about the Company, and to learn more about how we can be a good partner and neighbour,” said Ian Russell. “At Kinross, we are committed to creating positive, mutually beneficial relationships with our communities, and we believe that starts at the beginning of a project with direct interactions to build trust. We are excited to partner with these communities and look forward to building a strong future in Red Lake and Ear Falls.”
