Kinross Nevada teams up with Superbuild to renovate Family Park in Nevada

In July, Kinross Nevada teamed up with FOX5 to support the ‘Superbuild’ project’s renovation of the West Wayne Family Park located in Las Vegas.

Kinross donated US$20,000 toward the park’s renovation that began with the demolition of the existing infrastructure. A rebuild will take place in October, which aims to build a safer, more accessible park for local families.

During the day, twelve employees from our Bald Mountain and Round Mountain operations came together to remove sand, fencing and existing structures at the park such as monkey bars, swing sets and benches, in preparation for new materials to come in.

The team’s hard work was featured on FOX 5 Las Vegas with news clippings available here.

“For Kinross, it’s very important to give back to the community, it’s part of our core values of Putting People First and Outstanding Corporate Citizenship,” said Samantha Faga, Community Relations Specialist, Round Mountain. “Las Vegas is home to many of our friends and families, as well as stores and activities we rely on. Although it may not be the community where we operate, it is still our community.”

This was Kinross Nevada’s second time partnering with Superbuild to make a difference in the state of Nevada, with the first project completed in partnership with Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a veteran family in Las Vegas.
