Congratulations Kinross Russia, which recently topped the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Russia’s Environmental Transparency Ranking of Russian mining and metals companies.
The award evaluates environmental management as well as a company’s environmental impact and disclosures for 2018, then compared the findings with year-over-year data to analyze its progress.
In 2017, Kinross Russia received first place under the environmental responsibility rating of mining and metals companies, further strengthening its leadership position in its ranking for 2018.
“Recognition by the WWF Russia for the second year in a row is a testament to our consistency in implementing the highest environmental standards at Kinross,” said Claude Schimper, Regional Vice-President, Russia. “The result is a well-deserved award for all of our employees who are focused on minimizing environmental impacts in their daily tasks.”
WWF Russia and Russia’s National Rating Agency work with support from the United Nations Development Program, the Global Environmental Fund and the Russian Natural Resources and Environment Ministry to compile the rankings.
